Right now, our Democracy is in peril, under assault from Trump’s Big Lie. It’s been well documented that Trump knew he lost the election, that his Big Lie campaign was a money-making con, designed to swindle money from his base in a last-ditch effort to regain power. The principle laid down by Goebbels acts as his guiding principle. The only question that remains is, will the principles of our Democratic institutions weather this frontal assault?
“Trump at times has appeared to admit to losing the election. In June, he told Fox News Sean Hannity that he “didn’t win”. Kelsey Carolan 4/5/22
“Former White House aide says she heard Trump in private blurt out ‘Can you believe I lost to this guy?’ while watching Biden on TV” Alyssa Farah Griffin
HE KNEW!
“If you tell a lie big enough, and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it”. Joseph Goebbels
Trump lost the election, but he has a history of FAILURES: six bankruptcies, his charity foundation shut down by the state for fraud, his Atlantic City hotel fined ten million dollars for money laundering, his conviction of racial discrimination for denying people of color access to his apartments, his near bankruptcy before Russian Oligarchs bailed him out. Currently, he is fighting numerous lawsuits ranging from business fraud, sexual assault, to stealing highly classified government documents.
His insecure, fragile ego can’t take losing, partly because he cheats, he cons, he commits fraud, and he is a compulsive liar. In other words, he lacks character; he lacks a sense of responsibility, empathy. As his former chief of staff, John Kelly noted, ‘everything is transactional for him’.

Trump is the Johnny Appleseed of the Big Lie, his minions robotically channeling Trump’s Big Lie, injecting a disabling serum into the bedrock of our Democracy–voting.
Trump lost sixty-five court cases regarding the election. His Attorney General stated emphatically there was no election fraud; his Election Security Director stated there was no election fraud.

Despite overwhelming evidence of his deception, he compulsively chants the Big Lie, sucking minions into his vortex of disinformation, robots who act as carrier waves, spreading the torch of the Big Lie.
“A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices.”
“A society becomes totalitarian when its structure becomes flagrantly artificial: that is when its ruling class has lost its function but succeeds in clinging to power by force or fraud.”
George Orwell
Brief list of the current carrier waves:
- Kari Lake: Arizona gubernatorial nominee
- Blake Master: Arizona Senate nominee
- Tudor Dixon: Michigan gubernatorial nominee
- Ted Budd: North Carolina Senate nominee
- D. Vance: Ohio Senate nominee
The list goes on and on, including the Senators and Congressmen who not only pushed the Big Lie, but who supported the Insurrection, which was based on the Big Lie.

Democracy flourishes in truth. Fascism takes hold and infiltrates through lies and disinformation. Hitler himself didn’t kill six million Jews, he needed enablers, cruelhearted robots to carry out the genocide. Trump created the Big Lie, with help from Rudy, and like Hitler, created his robots and enablers to carry out his assault on Democracy.
Before Hitler seized power, he had the backing of only about thirty percent of Germans. With that base, he was able to seize power through violence, intimidation, and brandishing scapegoats.
Trump’s base is around thirty percent, and we are starting to see the consequence of his violent rhetoric, as his enablers spread the disinformation, fermenting grievances, labeling and offering up scapegoats. We saw this call to violence on January 6th, and last week we saw the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband.
Trump has been fanning the fumes of race conflict for the past six years, and from that conflict, that chaos he created, he intends to seize power.

The parallels between Trump and Hitler’s ascent are too striking to ignore. He is seeking to dismantle our Democracy and he is doing it in plain sight. Hitler had his stormtroopers and we saw Trump’s police force in Portland covering their badges and identities. Today, on his social media platform, Trump broached the idea of executing Biden. Mass shooters have already been motivated by Trump’s hate speech. And in Florida, we see DeSantis created his own million-dollar, private police force that is supposed to stop election fraud. I believe there were 3 or 4 instances of election fraud in Florida’s last election—guess you can never be too careful. As Trump stated: ‘it’s not how many votes that are counted, it’s who counts the votes.’ Putin knows this stratagem as he got around 90% of the votes in the last election.
We are in the next phase of fascism—the inciting of violence. Already, disinformation about the attack on Paul Pelosi is coursing through social media outlets, despite the police debunking the disinformation.

We let the fox into the henhouse, and by so doing we learned that Democracy is not a static principle, but an idea that needs watering and nourishing to keep it breathing. It needs to be created every day.
Democracy flourishes through the moral spine of its leaders. Its foundation rests on the integrity of its leaders.
Republicans no longer stand for anything. They have sold their souls to a false prophet who lacks any sense of morality, empathy, and compassion. They have abandoned Democracy and depend on disinformation and lies to get elected. There is no sewer they will not climb into if they think it will help them get elected, just witness Marco Rubio’s racist ads against Val Demings, an Afro-American woman.
Our most potent weapon to save Democracy is the lever in the voting booth.
Thirty million Democrats didn’t vote in our last election. That can’t happen. This is our chance to restore Democracy and vote all those racist, misogynistic, wannabe fascists out, and when this happens, we will once again bask in the brilliance of our Founding Fathers whose scriptures were powerful enough to fend off an attack from within.

Curt
How can we get people to vote when they are afraid. We don’t have that problem in California but in so many other states we do.
